Community Investment Program

In 2025, Southline Transmission partnered with the Gila Community Foundation to create the Southline Community Investment Program (SCIP). The SCIP is committed to supporting local projects, essential services, and nonprofit organizations working to improve quality of life across southwest New Mexico. Eligible applicants include nonprofit, municipal, and county-level organizations serving one or more of the participating counties (Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, and Doña Ana).

The spring 2026 grant is now closed, with applications currently under review. The SCIP Advisory Committee, composed of community representatives from Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, and Doña Ana counties, leads the review and selection process. Neither Southline Transmission nor its co-developers, Grid United and Black Forest Partners, determine grant recipients.

Investment in Local Communities

Southline will contribute investments of more than $4 million across New Mexico and Arizona through donations, sponsorships, and partnerships with local organizations.

Southline’s Phase 1 construction phase is projected to generate over $18 million in local tax revenue across Arizona and New Mexico, which will help fund critical public services, including education, infrastructure, and emergency response:

Pima County, AZ: $2.2 million

Cochise County, AZ: $7.9 million

Hidalgo County, NM: $6.1 million

Grant County, NM: $2.7 million
